New to Janitor AI? No problem. This page will walk you through everything you need to know—from creating your first AI character to customizing memory, tone, and interaction style. Whether you’re using Janitor AI for storytelling, companionship, or just for fun, this guide will help you get started the right way.
Step 1: Sign Up or Log In
To use Janitor AI, you need to:
- Visit the official Janitor AI website or open the app (Android/iOS).
- Click on “Sign Up” to create an account or “Log In” if you already have one.
- Verify your email (if required) and log in to your dashboard.
Optional: If Janitor AI is blocked in your region, use a VPN to access the platform.

Step 2: Browse or Create a Character
Once logged in, you have two options:
Option A – Use an Existing Character
- Go to the Characters section or search bar.
- Filter by category (romance, fantasy, sci-fi, etc.).
- Click on a character to preview their details and start chatting.
Option B – Create Your Own Character
- Click “Create Character” or “+ New Character.”
- Fill in the basic details:
- Character name
- Avatar (upload an image or use a URL)
- Short description
- Set Personality & Backstory:
- Write how your character should speak, behave, and think
- Define goals, quirks, or emotional tone
- Set Tags and Visibility:
- Choose if this character is public or private
- Add relevant tags (e.g., #fantasy, #supportive, #funny)

Step 3: Start Chatting
After selecting or creating a character:
- Click “Chat Now” or “Start Conversation.”
- Type your message and hit send.
- The AI will respond based on your character’s defined behavior and tone.

Step 4: Customize Memory & Behavior Settings
Janitor AI allows some characters (depending on the model) to remember past conversations and maintain context. To adjust this:
- Go to your character settings.
- Enable or disable memory (if supported by the model).
- Write “example dialogues” to train the AI on how to respond.
- Save and test your settings in live chat.
Use training examples like this:
- User: “How was your day?”
- Bot: “It was quiet—I spent most of it reading and thinking about you.”

Step 5: Fine-Tune Character Tone, Traits & Filters
